‘jus the facts, ma’am!   I recently tried a tool designed for viewing web sites on a cell phone. It strips out the formatting, and if you want, the images.

You’re left with a web page much like they were back when the ‘net was in its infancy. Just text and links. Do you remember when pages had a gray background by default?  Netscape ruled?

Try it out  – especially on a heavily formatted site like Microsoft…

It stays inside the Google shell, so following links keeps the stripped down look. I tested it with php pages, such as those at PCMag.com. It worked fine. This has the added benefit of giving you a “text conversion” tool if you’d like to save the text from a page and its heavily cluttered.
