Recently, I wrote about Google’s web based applications – a spreadsheet and a writing program, free, with collaboration and access controls. You can access your files from anywhere with a net connection and continue working where you (or another) left off.
Google has now added a Presentation app, completing the basic threesome. So far, all are basic applications but sufficient for most uses.

Have you checked out Alerts? You are automatically notified when certain key words, like your company name, show up in the news or in search results on web sites. With news, you can basically design your own newspaper. For the academic, Scholar, Book search, or University. And who can miss the new “TV stations” with thousands of “channels”.
And its all free.
